Day 1: Delhi
Begin your Tour.
Arrive into Delhi.
Welcome to Vardhman's "Temples of India Tour"!
On arrival in Delhi, you will be met and transferred by Vardhman's representative
to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2: Delhi
This morning after breakfast proceed on a City Tour.
Visit Red Fort, built in 1648 by Mughal Emperor Shahjehan, Jama Masjid,
one of the largest Mosque of India, Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana, the cremation
sites of Mahatama Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. Also drive past Chandni
Chowk, shopping centre of Old Delhi.
Visit places like Qutab Minar, Humayun's tomb, Lakshminarayan Temple,
a modern Hindu Temple, Parliament House, Government Secretarial Building
and Connaught place, the shopping centre of New Delhi.

Day 3: Delhi - Jaipur
Early morning after breakfast drive to the beautiful Pink city-Jaipur.
Reach and check into your hotel. Relax for a while and later visit Jaipur.
Visit the Amber Fort on the way, a spectacular fortress-palace protecting
a complex of palaces, temples, exquisite marble and mirror-inlaid halls
and apartments. The highlight of the tour is an elephant ride up the hill
at the Fort like a Maharaja !
Visit the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Wind), a high and intricately carved wall
behind which women of the court were sequestered while watching processions.
Also see the Observatory and the City Palace, which houses an excellent
collection of Rajasthani costumes, miniatures and an armory of Rajput
weapons.

Day 4: Jaipur - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra
This morning proceed for onward journey by road to the "Romantic
City of Taj Mahal"-Agra (5.5 hours).
En route stop at the walled city of Fatehpur Sikri, built by Akbar the
Great to commemorate the birth of his son. Visit the red stone mosques,
courtyards and the palace where Akbar once played chess using slave girls
as pawns.
Continue drive to Agra. Arriving Agra and check into your pre-booked hotel.
Relax for the remaining part of the day.

Day 5: Agra
City tour of Agra.
Agra is famous as being home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World
The Taj Mahal. The architectural splendor of the mausoleums, the fort
and the palaces is a vivid reminder of the opulence of the legendary Moghul
Empire, of which Agra was the capital in the 16th and early 17th centuries.
The 16th century Agra Fort, houses a number of exquisite buildings: the
Moti Masjid (pearl mosque), Diwane-I-Aam (palace for general audience),
Diwane-I-Khas (private palace), Anguri Bagh (wine yard), Sheesh Mahal
(hall of mirrors), and the Musamman Bhurj (Jasmine Tower) where Shah Jahan
died as a prisoner of his own son.
After the tour of the fort, you will be taken to visit the magnificent
mausoleum, Taj Mahal, erected by Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife,
Queen Mumtaz Mahal. Begun in 1631, 20,000 workmen took 22 years to complete
it a dream in white marble which lies in perfect proportion to the elegant
garden of fountains.

Day 6: Agra - Jhansi - Khajuraho
Morning transfer to Agra railway station to board train for Jhansi.
0825 hrs. - Leave for Jhansi by Shatabdi Express
1100 hrs. - Arrive Jhansi and drive to Khajuraho. Transfer to your hotel
upon arrival. Relax for the remaining part of the day.

Day 7: Khajuraho - Varanasi
Visit the world famous Khajuraho temples were built by the Chandela
kings between 950 AD and 1050 AD. The most important are the Chaunset
Yogini Temple dedicated to Goddess Kali, The Mahadev Temple, Chitragupta
or Bharatji Temple with a lovely image of 11 headed Vishnu, Vishvanath
and Nandi Temples, Lakshmana Temple, Visha Temple of Shiva, which is the
largest & most typical of temples. Visit the Eastern group of temples
that consist of the Parasvanath Temple - the only Jain Temple surviving
at Khajuraho and has excellent sculptures on the outer walls of the Sanctum,
the Javeri Temple dedicated to Vishnu. The other temples in this group
are those dedicated to Brahma, Yamuna and Adinath.
In the afternoon transfer to Khajuraho airport to catch flight Varanasi.
Arrive Varanasi and you will be transferred to your hotel by our representative
for an overnight stay.

Day 8: Varanasi - Delhi
Early morning boat excursion on the holy river Ganges to see the bathing
ghats and cremation site, sunrise above the river, aarti
Watching
people bathing and worshipping at the ghats is one of the most extraordinary
experiences of a visit to India.
City tour of Varanasi and visit Saranath
Sightseeing tour of the City visiting the Bharat Mata Temple with a big
relief map of India in Marble, Durga Temple, Tulsi Manas Mandir, Banaras
Hindu University, which has an art gallery and the mosque of Moghul Emperor
Aurangazeb, built on the site of an ancient Hindu Temple. A walk through
the old centre ("golden" temple, ghats...), Bharat mata temple,
Kashi Viswanath temple.
Sarnath, the buried Buddhist city where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon,
Sarnath was a renewed school of learning from 6th Century B.C. to 12th
Century A.D. Visit the ruins, the stupa, the Buddhist Temple and the Museum.
Evening transfer to Varanasi airport to board flight for Delhi. On arrival
at Delhi Domestice airport transfer (through shuttle service available
free of cost at the airport) to the International airport to board the
flight for your onward destination with sweet and unforgettable memories
of "Temples of India Tour" escorted by Vardhman Vacations.
